As prime contractor, Kuanta was responsible for the design, procurement, delivery, construction, installation, commissioning and turnover of:

• CAT 1 Airfield Lighting System for 3 runways (over 7,300 meters) and 36 taxiways (over 15,000 meters),
• CAT 1 Navigational Aids, including ILS/DME, CVOR/DME (Kirkuk), DVOR/DME (Taji),
• Automatic Weather Observation Systems (AWOS),
• Air Traffic Control Tower upgrade, including remote control units, AFTN and VHF/UHF Radio Transceivers (material delivery only),
• All related utilities and infrastructure work, including powering systems (generators, panels, distribution, UPS),
• Approach and departure procedures (designed by Kuanta),
• Commissioning Flight Checks.
• Notably, Kuanta executed this complex project without interrupting or disturbing operations at these active U.S./Iraqi air bases

Kuanta has successfully completed the construction and commissioning phases of this project and turned over all equipment to the client. Currently, Kuanta’s on-site teams are providing warranty and contractor logistics support. Both bases continue to be used actively by U.S. and Iraqi air forces.
